How much disk space do I need to keep on drive C for Vista Ultimate. Right
now it has about 220 gb or so. I want to down size it and allocate more to
drive D for a logical partition. It's a dell system

Tom,

Your D: drive is the recovery partition in case of a disaster, better to
leave it alone.
You can shrink C: drive down to 100 GB and create a new partition for your
other programs,
but before you do, change your DVD drive to a letter higher in the alphabet
so as not to interfere with the hard drive letters.
