| I have a HP Pavilion laptop with Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I'm using a Linksys router. When I connect to the router it says "local only". I know the router works because I have 3 other computers connected to it that are using the internet. I have disabled IPv6 or unchecked it from the box wireless properties. Here is what i get when do ipconfig /all

| Let me guess ... the other "working" computers are XP, not Vista?
ASUS A832nSLI-Deluxe, AMD 64X2 4400 OC 2.4GHz, 3GB OCZ,
Running: Windows 7, Vista 32-bit, Ubuntu 8.10, Ubuntu 8.04 LTS

| | Yeah they are XP. I've even tried to manually assign the laptop an ip and it still says local. When i use Firefox it will load google.com but takes forever and then you can't go to any other sites |

| I suggest you read all the stickys, once you have tried all of that let us know. Its such a broad problem, its very hard to give an exact solution.

If you had limited connectivity I don't know how you are loading google at all?
