Hi people,
I am stuck. Since returning from a 3 week holiday my internet is really slow, downloading at 15 KB/s instead of 150 KB/s. My housemate uses the same wireless router and his connection is fine. I initially thought it was due to 1 of the 8 vista updates that auto-installed when i first rebooted, but after uninstalling them, and also trying a system restore, internet was still slow.
I have run virus scan. I have phishing filter turned off. I have defragmented. I have cleaned my temp folders and history etc. I changed my power settings. Nothing has helped...
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Go into network and sharing center > manage network connections (right hand pane)

Right click your network > properties > and deselect ipv6 and both topology services.

Reboot, and see if that helps bring your connection up to speed.

Windows may have changed a network driver. If its still possible try and do a system restore back to before your holiday.

thanks for the idea, but i tried performing a system restore before posting here and it didnt help. I no longer have the option to restore to earlier dates.
I dont think it is a driver issue. When I go into device manager, the option to rollback drivers is greyed out suggesting there has been no update.
I'll keep searching....
