| I've got an Acer Extensa 4620Z laptop, with Broadcom WiFi. It connects fine to all the non-secured WiFi networks I've tried it on.
However, I can't get it to work at home. My flatmate has a Vista laptop and has no trouble connecting. I however can see it but not connect to it.
The router uses WEP (I know it's no good but I can't do anything about it - rented flat) but Vista says it sees it as WPA-PSK. Putting in the WEP key doesn't work.
I know the router WiFi works - it worked with an XP laptop I had, and it works for my flatmate. I know my laptop's WiFi works - it connects everywhere but here. So what's the problem??
Any suggestions gratefully received |

| I am almost positive this will fix your problem:
Right click the network icon in the bottom right and hit "Connect to a network" > Then click "Setup a connection or network" displayed below the box showing the available APs > click "manually connect to a wireless network" > And put in the info that your roomates Vista uses to connect. This will allow you to specify WEP as the encryption.
