| | good greif just go into the personalize menu, click on "change desktop icons" and make sure the internet explorer box is checked. |

| | yeah, that does seem easy, but there is no internet explorer icon on that menu. all thats there is recycle bin,control panel, network,users files, and computer. |

| Thats how it was in XP, sorry.
I hate it when microsoft removes a perfectly good working feature or option in the OS.
Anyway, ill look into it...ill let you know if i come up with anything. |

That link will walk you through the steps needed to restore the IE desktop icon. There are other such links around, but they all do essentially the same thing.
Evidently, MS has "hidden" the IE desktop icon in XP SP3, as well. Can't confirm that because I'm not running an XP SP3 install that had the IE icon on the desktop -- but that's what is being claimed. And, the procedures for restoring the icon in those situations is much the same.
