I have Vista Home Premium 64bit and I am using a Plantronics USB headset on Teamspeak 2. It's on an ASUS P5K-E/Wi-Fi mobo with onboard sound card. Whenever I talk, the people on the other end hear what they discribe as motorboating or sounding like I am reporting traffic from a helicopter. I have tried a different headset, different audio drivers for the onboard sound card, a different sound card and every setting and level adjustment I can find. The only thing that seems to make it work right is plugging the headset directly into the mic and speaker ports without the USB adapter. I am at a total loss. Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

If you plug the headset into the computer using usb, it doesn't matter what sound card you have as it wont use it. When you plug the headset straight into the souncard via the jacks, it will be using the soundcard's sound acceleration and hence the problem dissapears. Go onto Plantronics website, find your headset and download their latest drivers, this might make it work.

I tried to find drivers for the headset, but there aren't any. I even emailed Plantronics and they said there are no drviers and the headset is compatible with Vista.

Well, I applied the hotfix and it didn't seem to fix it. The problem has been random lately. But occasionally I can still hear the motorboating when activating test mode in Teamspeak. The only thing that seems to make it completely go away is not using the usb adapter. I'm still confused.
