So I have a desktop computer that I am interested in upgrading to vista with. I have already purchased vista ultimate and am ready to load it up. Here's the deal. The desktop is running with 2 gigs RAM which I know will work, I am concerned with my video card's compatibility though. This is the card: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3053808&CatId=1603
what do yall think?

It is supported at the lower end, only for Directx 9 of course and you wont be playing many games but you will get the Aero theme ok. BTW I edited your post just to make the link clickable.

I used to have that same card Geforce fx5200 and it is unable to support aero but it was only the 64MB version, I suggest you download the Vista Upgrade Advisor and run it on your system.

If I were you i'd save up a little and buy a 2600 pro or something, these cards will certainly handle the job and give you a bit more processing power when you need it. But it all depends on if your system is up for it...

Vista PC                                            XP PC

Asus M2N-X                                   ASRock P4G

HD 2600XT 256                             X1650 Pro 512

AMD 4200+ X2                              Pentium 4 2.53 GHz

2 GB DDR2 Corsair 675 MHz             1.5GB DDR Kingston 400MHz

250 GB Western Digital Caviar          80GB Damaged Seagate HDD

                                                   6GB Western Digital Boot Drive
