Hi all, I recently purchased a compaq presario c700 that came with windows vista home premium pre-installed. Now I've noticed that even after I've deleted certain files they still show up in a search from the start menu. I've tried rebuilding the index, turning off indexing for the folder where the files used to be, and when I try to delete them from the search results i just get an error message that the file does not exist in the specified location. Well I know that, and that's exactly why I don't want them to show up in searches anymore...

Please help me figure out how to get rid of this problem, it is driving me insane!!

Thanks in advance for any help

When you say certain files which ones are you talking about? You could manually remove that location from the search index.
