| | First off, this is a great informative site!! I have already learned many new things about Vista. I have gone through everything suggested in the Pinned and still can not resolve this issue. I can not visit gw.state.tn.us when typed in the address bar. It will act as if it is loading but will "NEVER" complete. It worked for over a year and then all of a sudden will not. I have not installed anything bor have there been any MS Updates. I checked for malware, virus etc... and no go there as well. I put it in my allowed sites, etc... and have tried everything that I have come across to no avail. Sounds like it should be relatively simple since I can install Firefox and all is well but I like IE7 for some reason because it seems much faster to load than Firefox. Liek I said, it only happens with gw.state.tn.us. This is for web access to Novell GroupWise and I have been on their site as well but couldn't find anything. When you type in the gw.state.tn.us, the routing normally takes you to this: https://gw1.state.tn.us/servlet/webacc. Thanks in advance and any help would be greatly appreciated. Frank |

| | I was having the same problem. I have a HP home computer, using Windows Vista, and could not access Novell GroupWise WebAccess, by typing gw.state.tn.us (it's a secure website) in the address bar. I use Internet Explorer 7. I found a solution by going to www.hp.com and selecting Customer Service, then selecting Chat with an online support technician after you buy, then selecting Desktop and Workstations. During the chat session, the following instructions were given by Monty K: Monty K : Open Internet Explorer and click Tools and then Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab. Click Reset. Click Apply=>OK You have to close all windows to reset the IE settings. If that doesn't work, visit the link given below and perform the steps given in that web page to resolve the IE issues.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=bph07138&dlc=en I did everything he suggested, then had to go to the link. Once there, I selected the following issue from the list: Unable to view secure Web sites (such as online banking) . The instructions were easy to follow, and the problem was solved! Karen

| | The GW Web Access has been rolled back to 6.5 from 7. That's why it looks different and Proxy does not work. THIS IS A VISTA ISSUE! XP IS NOT AFFECTED! The reason you are having the problem with Vista is because, by default, Vista has SSL 2.0 DISABLED. You will have to go into the Internet Settings, Advanced Tab, scroll down and check the button next to "Use SSL 2.0" Restart and you will be able to get in. This does not only affect the State of TN GW Web, but any site using GW Web 6.5. It does not actually USE SSL 2.0 (Uses 3, actually), but the way that the crypto layer in Vista has changed makes you have to do this change for it to work. It's also why GW Web Access has issues with many web-enabled cell phones. Anyway, now you know. Tick SSL 2.0 and you'll be golden. Same if anyone happens to be running Windows 7 beta. Hope this helps -ata |
