| Hi
Can anyone help me please? I'm trying to use Dragon Natrually Speaking on Vista, but when I try to select the USB microphone in the control panel/ sound panel/ recording panel. The panel is all dulled out and freezes, which I can't get rid off until the system is restarted? does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong and what I can do to resolve this problem? much appreciated!
regards
Dan
Many Thanks in Advance!? |

| The audio foundation change dramatically for Vista such that most XP-era drivers stopped working. Did you install a version of DNS specifically for Vista? Or did you install an older version, hoping it would work in Vista? If it's an older version, and it came with XP-era drivers for the microphone, you would need to update the drivers for Vista.
Also, what does device manager show about the USB microphone?
Have you gone into Control Panel --> Speech Recognition Options, and tried to do the microphone setup in there? IF so, what do you get?
