| | Not sure if this is the right place for this, but since I mostly have trouble with it in games, I'll try it here. When I check my directx diagnostic, it shows 3gb of system ram. When I flip to the display page, it shows me having 1.518gb of "approximate total memory" for my graphics card. This can't be right, as I run an 8500 GT card that definately doesn't have 1500mb of memory. I'm worried that somehow my ram is being hijacked by my graphics card. I'm not really computer savvy as you can no doubt tell. But that's what these forums are for right? Thanks in advance for any explanations. |

| Some information in a driver file might be wrong, saying that you have more memory in your video card then you really do have. But in the case of your video card stealing your ram, that does not happen. Video cards do not steal ram, your games use your ram to store information for your video card but once done or exited the ram is cleared of that information.
