I use Gmail & my LSU email but I wanted to set up my emails to use
Windows Mail. Can someone explain how I go about doing this?

Or is it even worth it? Does Windows Mail cause headaches? Is there an
advantage to it over email accounts set up with Gmail? If I do manage
to set it up, is it possible to check my Windows Mail Inbox from another
computer?

Gmail can be set up to use either IMAP or POP connections. Choose one of
these, and don't get them mixed up.

If you also want to make your Inbox accessible from other computers, set
Windows
Mail to leave copies of the messages on the server. To do this, click on
Tools, then
Accounts, then your email account, then Properties, then Advanced. If
there's no
checkmark in the box before Leave a copy of messages on server, click on
this box,
then Apply. It's a good idea to also select one of the methods for
eventually removing
the messages from the server, to keep it from having so many of your
messages that
it refuses to accept any more. You'll probably also want to make similar
settings on
any other computer you want to use to access your accounts, to keep them
from having
the only copy of some of your incoming mail.

Your email account provider should have a help page on their website with
the correct email server settings.

Once you get them, click on Tools - Accounts - Add..

It did, but probably slower than you expected.

If you don't say which email provider you are trying to connect
to, it's hard to provide the help you want. We aren't good at reading
your mind, and are sometimes slow at even reading the newsgroup.
