Please, need help with  few games,

Red  Alert 2[PROBLEM]-screen is half the size it's supposed to be, can't fix that.

Stepmania[PROBLEM]- same thing as RA2

And so on with everyother game i have.

All the screens are mini when there supposed to be big/full screen, and there not!!! I've tried:

Changing properties>>compatibitie, thats the only thing i could think of that could help, it won't., help.

Sorry about the bad grammar, i'm kind of in a hurry.

Problem is they cannot cope with any 'widescreen' mode so they are left with what is likely 640X480, you can usually change this in the config file in the ganes directory with old games, so long as you stick to a standard res and not a widescreen, I find this with Tiberian Sun but it looks pretty good at 1024 x 768, just leaves a border on both sides but you forget it's there after a while.

I dont have red alert 2 or any other cnc game installed at the minute, but if I remember correctly there should be a file named config located in C:/program files/westwood/redalert2/ or something like that. Open it up in notepad and try and find a line which says: "resolution 800 600" and change it to the resolution of your screen, so in my case "resolution 1600 1200".

I think anyway, I could be wrong. You get the idea and can look around yourself.

Spot on squire that's what I was hinting at, I do this for old games and usually they work fine.

Thanks man, but that doesn't fix my problem, but it did help, i put it at my screen res and it helped a little bit, but still not full screen

Dont suppose you could give us a print screen. If you press printscreen in game, open up paint, paste and save it to your computer, then at the bottom of the reply window under 'Post Options' click 'Edit Attachments' and add the picture to your post.

Laptops have wide screens which more modern games can adjust for, it's not unusual for this to happen in old games, they cannot adjust to the required output to make them stretch, I have tried manually adjusting the aspect ratio and resolution in the congi. files it just either does nothing, streches it out of proportion or refuses to run at all.
