It appears either I was making a mistake someplace or not watching things close enough. After putting XP Home back on the hard drive after reformatting the drive, I then downloading and applied Vista Basic after letting Vista Basic download all needed updates. I then set up and got all peripherals working properly. Then I downloaded the Vista Home Premium Install License file from my Digital Locker. After starting the Digital Install file it asked me if I wanted to download the needed updates which I did. This time it never asked me for a product key, which if I am correct it should not as the key is included in the Digital Install file, right??????? Ok, roughly 4 or 5 hours later Vista Home Premium comes up fine. I then tried Internet Explorer which also came up fine. At that point I decided to try and Activate it, which thankfully also came up and worked as it is supposed to. Only moral to this story appears to be pay complete attention to what your screen says and probably I would have gotten it right the first day I tried it.

RE: Vista Home Premium Problems

The registery was so corrupt I reformatted which was my mistake. Unless you have some receipt or similar that you printed out for just such an occasion, or have you no back up of any kind of this valuable information ?

Vista Home Premium Problems

This is actually lorenkjr as I lost everything including my registration here. I purchased Vista Home Basic and then Vista Home Premium from the Digital Locker and Microsoft. No problem installing Vista Home Basic and activating it. The problem occurs when I use the Digital License to install Vista Home Premium. Looking at my Digital Locker I have no serial number with it nor do I have one with the upgrade anytime disk I was sent. As I recall I have to a clean install but, what about the serial number?????????????
