In the device settings there was an option for tap zones on the touchpad, basically a "plus" sized area on the pad produced a left click, but the four corners would produce whatever they were set to. Most of the time I was clicking the bottom right corner, which kept minimizing my screens repeatedly. I disabled tap zones, as I don't need them and it was more annoying than helpful. Thanks for the replies guys.:D

RE: [SOLVED] Touching mousepad and minimizing screen.....

It's acting as if you have the touchpad set for single-clicking being interpreted as double-clicking.

You'll need to determine if you have the latest touchpad (Synaptics) driver installed and, if not, obtain the latest one from your hardware manufacturer or Synaptics.

RE: [SOLVED] Touching mousepad and minimizing screen.....

Erm, I have not really any idea as to what can solve the issue. Its very odd.

What you could do it go into device manager > mouse and other pointing devices > and see if there is a driver located there for your touch pad. Then search the internet to see if there is an updated driver for it.

RE: [SOLVED] Touching mousepad and minimizing screen.....

no one has an answer?

[SOLVED] Touching mousepad and minimizing screen.....

I have a Toshiba laptop, and use the touchpad for everything. The problem I am having I have only encountered when surfing the internet, as it's about the only thing I use the computer for. Oftentimes when touching the pad the screen will either minimize or go to about 2/3 the size of the screen. Sometimes when I have tapped the pad when the pointer is on the x it will minimize repeatedly before close. It's really freaking annoying as navigating websites while the screen is constantly shrinking/minimizing several times in a row. Is there a fix for this?
