First I tried the Netgear and Linksys models. Both were the basic 54mps PCI versions. They didn't have compatible Vista drivers. Linksys offered an upgraded driver on their website, but when I downloaded it, Vista said the file was corrupt. After a few hours of seaching for a good version of it, I finally gave up. I research the Dynex DX-BGDTC and i found no real problems on the net about it workng with Vista, so it was my final shot and behold, I am online wirelessly and typing this post. My Dynex card says version 1.00. Now, I originally tried to download the Vista driver on their support page for this model, and I had the same problem. Vista wouldn't run the .exe program. So i tried the driver bundle that came with the card and it worked. Hope this helps anyone out there.

RE: Vista Compatible/Incompatible Hardware List

Samsung CLP-600N Color Laser Printer (Fully Compatable (Vista 32 / Vista 64))
Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer with Thumbprint Reader (No Driver for the Thumbprint Reader)
Sound Blaster Audigy II (Compatable - No Driver for "Creative Game Port")
Promise Ultra133 TX2 IDE Controller (Fully Compatable (Vista 32 / Vista 64))
RE: Vista Compatible/Incompatible Hardware List
rrwyler (1/23/2007)
Does this mean that the WMP54GX 32bit will work with windows vista

Thank s

Ron
Yes. I'm certain this didn't work with build 5600. It seems to work fine.
Build 5728 Solution (x64): Setup a 1 disk Raid0 in the BIOS and load the Promise 20378 Windows x64 driver when setting up drives during Vista install.

Realtek 8110C/8110S LAN - Conflict may exist between on-board LAN and Via VT8237 SATA when booting.
Solution: Disable Realtek LAN in bios and install LAN card. You may have to manually clear the CMOS with the on-board jumper to gain access to the bios to disable the on-board LAN.

Realtek ALC655 - Vista will automatically install VIA AC '97 sound driver. General sound issues such as skipping and hiss may be heard.
Solution: Install Realtek AC 97' Vista Beta Sound Driver (6156) [Note: Tested Beta Sound Driver fine in build 5728]

A major problem with many systems with SATA Controllers is that sound, specifically when playing MP3s, will skip when using the new drivers supplied with Vista RC1.
Solution: "Downgrade" the driver for your SATA Controller, the Via VT8237 in this instance, for a fairly recent XP driver. Sound skips are now a thing of the past.
Note: This problem has been fixed with build 5728 so there is no need to change the Via VT 8237 driver from the installed MS Vista driver.

Graphic Cards

AGP:

ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 9600XT (128MB) (Aero Glass Compatible) (32-bit)
TV/Video capture functionality inoperable. Before first reboot of OS after it has done a complete installation and up for first time, install complete ATi package, then re-boot. This xw9300 was the only system, out of three, with non-factory video-card and installation took six time to get correct. Previously, this system was used for Beta 2 release and had a pbATi PowerColor x600 PCIe video card and the install was flawless.
