It will install in your machine in three stages:
1) Download a small program to obtain the SP
2) Download and update the MS installer SW
3) Download and apply the SP

It will not be available in Windows Update until mid-March because there are conflicts between some drivers and SP 1. When it does become available, MS is hoping that the driver-writes will have fixed those conflicts. Either way, during stage 2, Vista will check your installed drivers to see if there are any conflicts. If there are, it will NOT offer SP 1 for downloading.

RE: [SOLVED] Vista update s - vs sp1

ok sorry - move it now if you want /can .

vmt

steve

RE: [SOLVED] Vista update s - vs sp1

Please note that the Main Lounge is for discussions, not for requesting technical support. We have separate forums for that. Leaving this post here so you will see it when you login again -- but will be moving it to the Upgrades & Installations forum in the next day or so.

RE: [SOLVED] Vista update s - vs sp1

Anyone care to offer there pearls of wisdom???

;)

[SOLVED] Vista update s - vs sp1

Hi all,

Just got new pc with Vista home prenuim?

Have downloaded 5 updates that look useful? not installed them though?

Notice there was 500 or so updates???

Im on usage allowance with mobile broadband.

Heard about sp1 for release feb/mar?

so my ??? is will sp1 incorporate all / most of the available updates so shall i wait til sp1 and forget updates???

Also wonder if im downloading updates that have auto downloaded anyway!!!!

your thoughts are most welcome!!

vmt

:hehe:steve
