ive heard that 64 bit isnt as reliable, maybe this is un-true.

I will upgrade to 64-bit when possible, but probably wont need to for a while.

Ill also get another 1-2gb of ram and will probably update all 3 cards and processors within

6-months of having it.

not only that, but the supplier doesnt pre-intall the 64-bit version,.

Sorry I guess this isn't what you're asking but personally wouldn't spend the money to buy 3 video cards. Basically what you have there is going to be bottlenecked by your cpu. I have dual 8800's in SLI and let me tell you the difference isn't that great when running 1 and 2 (qx6800 cpu at 3.5 ghz) You would be better off spending your money on the fastest cpu/mobo you can afford and a single graphics card and PERHAPS two but 3? No way. Also since you are running Vista you may want to think about running 4 gigs of RAM.

Also the new penryn cpu's are out now but yes they are expensive. If you wait a few months the price will drop. Also Nvidias new cards are out in a few months as well. Basically you are right on the cusp of new tech for cpu's and video cards so to pay top dollar for what is going to soon be yesterday's best technology seems like a waste. I guess I don't know what you are paying but just making a point.

But please believe me when I say, you have too much graphics for your CPU. A third card is a waste. A single 9 series card would likely equal or outperform the 3 8800's. But yeah you would have to wait a month or two for that.

Anyway, why aren't you getting Vista 64 bit?? There are no "special" drivers for SLI but you do have to activate it within the Nvidia control panel.

just signed up to this forum, seems great btw!

anyway i have bought a new pc, from Novatech.co.uk, my personall favourite pc store.

The specs are

Processor

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 1066FSB 8MB Cache Quad Core Core 64 Bit Processor

Memory

2GB Corsair XMS 6400 DDR2 800MHz Dual Channel Ram

Graphics

Tripple Sli Nvidia 8800GTX 2304MB PCI-E Graphics Running In SLI Mode

Motherboard

Asus Striker Full SLI nVidia 680I

im waiting for them to get the parts in to build the damn thing :crazy:

and i was just wondering what i can expect this to run like on Vista Ultimate 32bit.

Some people say, no matter how fast theyre system is, its still a lot slower than it should be, and also will there be any drivers for the cards?

do i just get ur standard drivers (as if it had just 1 card inside)

or are theyre special sli drivers to get?

the website kinda confuses me a little, just wanna make sure what im getting myself into here :)
