I get an error saying "Error reading setup initialization file". I tried redownloading this file but the same problem exists. Any help would be appreciated.

can not thank you enough for this one. I wanted to play a movie the other night and it would play at all. The suggestion was to get newer video drivers, which there none for me anyway. Download this program, installed it,and played the movie like clock work. I say job well done and thank you!!!!!

[Moderator] What has your post got to do with the codec package. Are you saying that there is a commercial version that offers more features than the freeware download?

Plus, what's this about Vista Ultimate x128. There are only 32-bit and 64-bit versions; no such thing as a 128-bit version.

everytime I try to click on the correct download link, it fails to load after about 2 mins.

Hmm, following the links I eventually ended up at [url=http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Advanced-Vista-Codec-Package-Download-55586.html]this[/url] download page. It wants to download an .exe file most likely an installer itself. 7-zip should have nothing to do with it.

I hit this link, and got a newer version, I think. When it went to install, it gave me some odd 7-zip error. Did not work.

Any tips?
