Did you install a version of DNS specifically for Vista? Or did you install an older version, hoping it would work in Vista? If it's an older version, and it came with XP-era drivers for the microphone, you would need to update the drivers for Vista.

Also, what does device manager show about the USB microphone?

Have you gone into Control Panel --> Speech Recognition Options, and tried to do the microphone setup in there? IF so, what do you get?

Sound Recording panel frozen

Hi

Can anyone help me please? I'm trying to use Dragon Natrually Speaking on Vista, but when I try to select the USB microphone in the control panel/ sound panel/ recording panel. The panel is all dulled out and freezes, which I can't get rid off until the system is restarted? does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong and what I can do to resolve this problem? much appreciated!

regards

Dan
