If so, it's probably not the laptop. Just go to your steam user folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\&lt;user name&gt;\) then go into counter strike folder. And delete cstrike. This sounds drastic but it isn't. Given that it's a Home Basic machine, it may simply not have the horsepower to play CS.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Also, Nvidia and AMD/ATI are constantly posting updates to their drivers -- nearly always to correct problems with games. I tryed running CS 1.6 and I get this error: Half-Life Launcher has stopped working. Windows is working on a solution. Then after a little while i get A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the problem and notify you if a solution is available.
