Another thing that may be wrong is that a shortcut is restarting windows. Try and check to make sure no shortcuts for restarting windows are set, if so remove it.

Yes, there have been LOTS of problems with games in Vista, many of them due to video drivers. Both ATI/AMD and Nvidia keep cranking out new Vista drivers practically on a weekly basis. So, at least they're trying to fix the problems.

Since I don't user CoD4, I don't know of any particular problems with that game other than it demands lots of resources. Thus, apart from crashes due to code problems in the game, if you're not getting a BSOD (and you said your machine is set to NOT reboot on system crash), my bet would be on power supply problems or heat related problems -- especially if it doesn't crash during normal usage.

There are gamers that visit this forum regularly, perhaps they can contribute to this.

My system will run games like Call of Duty 4 and JointOps most of the time.

But sometimes it just reboots in the middle of the game.

No error message, just a restart.

I use an nvidia video card. I hear that their drivers have problems in Vista?

I know there is an option in Vista to turn off reboot on error. But this is set NOT to reboot

after an error.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
