No internet connectivity even when im connected to the internet?

Alright. So. Up until a few weeks ago, all my PC games worked fine. It was the 22nd of september exactly when everything stopped working. I recently borrowed a copy of CoD4 and when I went to play it, none of the servers showed up. Filtering was fine on it.

But that isnt where it started. I play a game named Cross Fire, its an online fps. It had a patch that day. I updated it at the wrong time, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. It came up as an error, which I recently solved by myself. But that also isnt the point. Any other games I play it wont allow me to connect to the server. Ive tried over 3 different big free online FPS games. None are allowing me to connect to the server. One game gave me an error stating "No Internet Connectivity" although I was connected to the internet.

I play games online on my consoles fine. I can play online with good connection and everything. But when it comes to PC games, no matter what game, It wont let me play. I can browse the internet fine, and my AIM works fine. xFire has stopped working aswell, saying "unable to connect to server". Ive tried CCleaner, and that didnt help.

Any ideas on what I can do to be able to play games online on my PC?

Oh and btw. Im running Vista Home Basic 32bit.

i upgraded from xp t vista home. with xp i had no problems with any games. now i have artifacts in every game i play. the screen flickers with colors.

my specs xfxhd4890
e8500 3.16ghz
780isli mobo made by evga
500gb hard drive 7200rpm.

i really dont know what to do. i want to be able to play games without artifacts!

please help if you can :)

Flight Simulator X won't get beyond "generating scenery database"

I installed FSX on vista. I've got an AMD dual core 4600 processor and 2gig of ram. I also have an nvidea Geforce 7600. When I run the game (either with or without admin and/or XP compatibility) it shows the splash screen (I think is what it's called) and it loads the scenery files (to 100%) and then has another window sorting out the scenery database, but it reaches 100% then gives "Microsoft Flight Simulator X needs to close".

My nvidea drivers were updated yesterday, as I thought they might be causing the issue.

I'd really like to think I haven't wasted time and money with this, so please help :)

Fiesta game problem

Okay. First, my laptop spec :

Windows Vista Home Premium -32bit
Ram : 4 Gb
G.Card : Nvidia graphic Card, Geforce 105m [512mb]
Processor : Intel Centrino Core Duo, 2.00 GHz

The requirement for the game :

The problem :

Every time when I play Fiesta, sometimes upon logging in and sometimes halfway playing the game, my screen would go black and turns on blue screen [memory dump or something] then restarts.
Once restarted, I got the error message said that window had spotted a malware called Xdvannn.sys
Which I've looked through on the net saying this is related to X-trap.

This is what I have done :

1. I've already tried turning off my firewall and antivirus. Still a no.
2. Scan the laptop with ad-aware/spybot search and destroy. Still a no.
3. Un-installing antivirus. Still a no.
4. Installing a new antivirus. Still a no.
5. Updating the antivirus. Still a no.
6. Re-install the game. Still a no.
7. Install the game with a new file. Still a no.

And if some of you might think the problems are cause by my laptop itself, it's a no, I've bought this laptop just 1 week ago. And I had changed 2 times. Same model. And still, the same problem.

The problem is when I play the game the pointer moves very erratically all over the screen. Someone said to move the graphics lower to about a 3. I have looked everywhere and I can not find anything ever close to what they are talking about. Can someone help me please!

All games crash to desktop after ten mins

I have been having a problem with running games for the past few days. Every time I try to play a game it runs for about 10 minutes before the game exits to windows with an error box saying the game need to stop needed to stop with no explanation.

‘biahh.exe has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.’

The system has also blue screened once at this point.
This was not an issue before Tuesday (28th July).

I have attempted to reinstall game and this has not worked, as well as updating drivers.

My system is –
Windows Vista Home Basic
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Duel Core Processor 6000+
2.00GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD4850 Series

Yesterday I installed Brothers in Arms Hells Highway which needs a CD-Key and online verification and my system did not ask for either of these and installed the game, I am wondering if this may be related to the issue.

When I run the Godfather Game, it started well. I can play the game for only short duration. After some time, its getting damn slow, my eyes r getting irritated and the movements too slow, I cudn't even complete some Missions because of this:w00t::angry:. If I quit the game n restart means, its again working well upto some time.

Anyone please help me.... What to be done to play the game without any problem of slow down...

P.S: The initial Screen, "paramount pictures video" also not displayed in the game. the Main menu is working well at any time.

INTEL MAKES THE CRAPIES GRAPHICS EVER!!!!! I BAUGHT NFS undercover yesterday AND ALL THAT COMES UP IS A WHITE SCREEN. THEN I PRESS ENTER A FEW TIMES, IT SHOUNDS LIKE ITS GUNNA WORK, BUT NO. ALL IT SAID WAS "NFS UNDERCOVER STOPPED WORKING" CHECK FOR SOLUTION OR CLOSE PROGRAM.

I got this game yesterday. The installation went very smoothly, but when I start the game the black screen appears and nothing comes up afterwards. There's no music, just a black screen. I'm using window Vista and I am sure the all the requirements for the game is met. I've played bioshock using this laptop and the requirements are much higher and everything was fine. Ive contacted EA and have almost tried everything. Can somebody please help? Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks.

Just wanted to share this. I and the "Best Buy Geek Squad" could not get java to work with Pogo games thru Internet Explorer using Vista. After some internet research I found a post that said to use firefox as browser. Well, low and behold it works just fine. Its a free, quick and easy.
I hope some others can use this information and not go thru hours of trying to make it all work on Internet Explorer.

huge problem with FPS after i installed SP2

i was playing Quake Live since Feb.09 and QL was running perfect on my machine. Finally i updated my vista X64 to SP2 and it seems like there is something wrong with video card drivers. Cuz right now i can only get 30-40 FPS.

i already installed latest drivers from nvidia (186.03), updated DirectX 10 with the latest updates. I cannot find our what's wrong, because it's impossible to play in a slideshow... I really need help or advise.

Problems with copying game files

Hi all.

Thanks for reading this topic. I have a major dilemma which is stopping me from releasing my MUP09 mod for EA Rugby 08. All it is, is a large number of files totalling about 850MB that simply needs to be compressed and zipped up for download.

I am a Vista user and the gamefiles are in the main directory of my game folders. I copied all of the files i needed for the mod into the folder, most were finished but others needed updating. As the files were in the folder already, i simply just updated them, but they were not copied in.

Now, the game will run the files like they are updated, and i have a perfect mod. If i view the files with the programs, they are correct and updated.

The problem is, when i try to copy the files to make it available to others, the content of the files reverts to what the files where before i updated them in the folder.

So basically, if i copy-in the files are fine, but any file i updated that was not copied in reverts to before the update.

I am aware that Vista makes some copies of files in folders as a backup, and it seems that i am only getting the files that were copied in.

The files are correct but i can't copy them as they are, i get the old versions before updating.

Any suggestions on how to copy them? They must be saved in some way because the game and Vista reads them.

I have no idea why they won't copy properly.

FS 2004 real world weather problem

I have FS2004 and like to download thre real world weather. This worked fine with my W XP computer. I now got Vista and the real world weather, after downloading in FS 2004, stays the same. Is Vista somehow blocking the download? Note that download process - from Jeppeson and install to FS 2004 bars are showing the download, no error messages! But the wether stays the same???

Black and White 2 and Vista?

Anyone have problems running Black and White 2 on Vista? I'm using Build 5600 RC1 and whenever I try to play BW2 it seems to be working once I'm in the game for about 5 seconds, then the sound chops up and stops altogether, as well as the game. Ultimately it ends with me watching a still screen of the last thing I did for about 10 minutes, and then restarting my computer. When playing on XP I ran the game at 1280x1024 with everything on high (minus anti-aliasing) and it ran about 30 fps constant. Any ideas? I'll try using the Vista drivers instead of my nvidia Vista drivers first.

Warrrior Orochi Problem

I can play Warrior Orochi on my computer smoothly but there is one problem, every two times i open the game, it automatically closes (not in the game yet, the screen just started to be black) And I have to re-enter the game again and it works.
However, every two times it happens like this, very annoying!!!

Sims 2 Freezing

Hey there. Installed all the expansions and everything, with Apartment Life being the last. Installed latest official patches as well. When game starts, it simply freezes after the intro movie, and displays the "Sims 2 apartment life" logo and screen, but nothing else. Music continues to play and only way I can exit is by using the ctr+alt+del and task manager shows the program as not responding. Here are my specs:

I got a 5.1 rating on vista.

I tried googling, and some of the people who seem to have this problem also have ASUS graphics cards. Could this be the problem? All my drivers are up to date though.

Please help. I tried reinstalling 3 times already and it really is a laborious task and so frustrating.

Empire Earth II- Locks up CD drive in Vista, help?

I know old game, but new to me. I just got a new Dell with Vista. I installed Empire Earth II just fine without any problems but when I tried to play the game it didn't start and then it wouldn't eject the CD. At one point in time I recieved an error message that said I was missing a dll...file or a mbll....file or something like that. But I can't seem to get that error message again. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have played other games and so far no problems.

The sims 2 with expansions Support needed.

hello all im new here, i currently have windows vista 32 bit home premium edition with option to upgrade to vista ultimate. Currently i can play alll but one game of my collection the game in question is the sims 2 with its various expansion packs.

Im not one to usually ask for assistance since i am a network engineer myself and pretty good on the tech side of things , that being said i do need help with this im baffled.

My problem is as follows...

I can load sims 2 up no problem, i can create a sim also with no problem the minute i start to actually play the game tho weather its on community lots or just a single sim i get serious lag issues my framerate drops so low the game is un-playable.

i have tried the following with no results.

Tried changing process afinity to one cpu as suggested on various other forums.

Tried playing on lowest graphics.

tried running in xp combatiblity mode with admin rights.

tried the programmers test perametres in game console aka the boolprop tricks also the vsync trick to no avail.

tried multiple settings in the catylist control centre also no impact.

updated every driver i have including updating the bios.

as you can see i have tried quite a few things with no luck. there are other things i have tried but it escapes my memory currently.

in anycase onto my cpu specs.

motherboard Dell studio 511.15

Intel core 2 duo quad core @ 2.33ghz x4

memory 4gig ram @ 645mhz with the option of nvidia 4gig @ 1000mhz(ps i have also tried those ram sticks also)

graphics card Ati Radeaon HD 3870 with current drivers.

Sound Realtek onboard hd.

hard drive Samsung HD642JJ ATA with 581gig total space currently 277 gig remaining.

Virtual memory allocated 8gig.

Vista gaming experience score rated @ 5.9

as you can see i have no feeble machine it easily meets any specs required of the sims 2 or any expansion pack made for it.

so i really can't figure the problem i'd appreciate any help on this matter thanks in advance

running tiger woods games on vista

being an avid fan of tiger woods pga tour i have acquired all of the tiger woods games for my pc but i am unsure of loading them all as i dont know if they will be compatible and i don't want to screw my pc up
I have from 2000 up to 2008.
my system is:
vista home premium 32bit
Intel 2 quad duo processor
3 gig ram
3.2 ghz x 4 processors
nvidia 8600gt graphics card
realtek hd audio sound card
if anyone can help this would be very helpful :)

I played games on Vista like Settlers 4, NFS U2, Half Life 2, UFO Aftermath, Baldurs Gate 2...

All games goes well but the loading time was a bit longer than on XP.

What about the games that you play actually...?

Hi all,

I am looking at a gaming notebook that has Windows Vista Home Preimum installed. I play all older games like Ghost Recon, Delta Force 1, 2, Blackhawk Down w/ Team Saber, Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 03 04 05 06. Will I be able to play these games on Vista or will I have to downgrade to XP?

Close Combat 5 multiplayer

Hey all,

im having a problem with my fave game. Its an old one, Close Combat 5 from 2000. I can get the game to work in single player, no problem, but VISTA has for some reasons erased all the buttons in the multiplayer section so I can host or join via UDP, TCP.

Why does Vista remove these buttons? Is there a security option to change so they are brought back? I dont use the firewall, but I see it has some options anyway, and the game has access like other games i do (that do work)

Is there a way to allow connection via IP in vista, a way to fix my problem?

I recently played Alexander the game on my computer but then i got tired and i wanted to uninstall it but when i try to do that it tells me that it [font=Arial Black][size=5]cannot load a string table, application will terminate[/font][/size]

System reboots sporatically with games

My system will run games like Call of Duty 4 and JointOps most of the time.

But sometimes it just reboots in the middle of the game.

No error message, just a restart.

I use an nvidia video card. I hear that their drivers have problems in Vista?

I know there is an option in Vista to turn off reboot on error. But this is set NOT to reboot

after an error.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

G'day all, I have got a new laptop with Vista home basic on it. I tryed running CS 1.6 and I get this error: Half-Life Launcher has stopped working. Windows is working on a solution. Then after a little while i get A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the problem and notify you if a solution is available. Could somebody please give me a hand with this?

Cod4 redirect issues vista 64bit

I have another friend who is trying to get mod files via server redirect.

He has the usermaps. But when the server tried to redirect the iwd files he timed out. So I had him go to his mod folder and create the awe4 mod folder. It asked him 2times to approve it. then after the folder was created he tried to reconnect and its still timed out. so i gave him the back end of the redirect and he got them manually. Still cant connect to server and the redirect is still trying to download, which it shouldnt cause he already put the files where they are supposed to go.

Are these files supposed to go in the same spot for 64 bit vista users? None of the other OS users have any issues at all. any ideas?
