| i am the administrator but i was stripped of my privileges. i cannot run task manager, i cannot go to some folders. i believe this was caused by a virus (i ran a file which i was suspicious of, but nevertheless ran it). how do i restore my privileges and get rid of the virus?
i am on vista ultimate x86. thanks! |

| Unless you unhid the real Administrator account, you are NOT the administrator. Read the following post about how to fix that:

Once you login as the real Administrator, you should be able to restore permissions to your user account.
