I am going to install 5308 pretty soon after backing up all my stuff but have a question. I have a serial from build 5231 and want to know if it will work with 5308. I can PM someone the serial I have to make sure it is a legit one before I go ahead and try it out. I really do not want any popups for activation coming up on the screen while I test out my appz on Vista. Thx,

I'm 99% sure it will NOT work. The build you got shoul've came with the serial in an nFO file or an Email

ok thanks, once i finish downloading the 5308 build i will check the contents for a .nfo file with the serial.

i was refferring to the 5231 serial because of the thread below....one of the last posts states they used a serial from 5231 which activated 5308?

Well, since You've got an NFO with the current build I'm assuming you got it in a way other than from MS, so the serial is probably widely used, and will not activate.
