| | hi people im new here so go easy on me!! i have a duel boot system xp 32bit home / vista 64bit home premium i have a problem running a few games on the vista system but the one in particular that is bugging me is "spell force shadow of the phoenix" it runs fine on the xp system but refuses to run on vista i just keep getting this error message "Conflict:a kernel problem has occurred.please disable all anti-virus programs and debuggers" i have turned off the agv anti virus but this has no effect anyone have an idea how to work around this??? cheers |

| .......or right click the executable and choose run in XPSP2 from the compatibility tab, either of these should get it going, if not make sure all your drivers are as up to date as possible.

| | yeah had tried all of those is there any way to turn off the "debugger" just to see if it then works??? |

| | This is not a very helpful reply but there are problems with a number of 'Jowood' productions Panzer Elite for example, from looking for answers in their games forums it seems they are aware and working on patches to fix the problems, mainly they involve the way Jowood games update their own log files, their engine can't open those logs in Vista so the whole thing falls over, there are various error messages mentioned, unfortunately it looks like a wait for them to fix it for Vista anyway. Edit for afterthought, you probably should have turned 'defender' off too but I don't think it will alter things and as for 'debuggers' they say that in case you have one active other than the kernel's untrapped error one which you can't disable.
