| | Installed Vista Ultimate on two machines in my home network. One has a wg311T PCI card, one has a USB 802.11g adapter, connecting to a WGU624 router. The PCs seem to have a mind of they own. They will stay connected for a long time, then the next time I boot they will grab a '169...' IP address (not 19.168..., which would be correct for DHCP) from the router and cannot connect through to the internet. I when I try WPA-PSK, sometimes it connects and sometimes it does not. When I tried Shared/WEP/64 and installed the keys manually, it all worked fine until the next time I booted it up, then no dice. Reset the router ,rebooted the machines, etc. Also running the latest 'Vista' firmware for the WGU624 router and beta drivers for both cards. ARrg. |
