| | I'm using vista and this few days i encounter an problem, this is what acer reply me 1. Switch PC/NB On. 2. Immediately press Alt+F10 many times to open the Acer eRecovery Utility. 3. Enter the password to proceed. The default password is six zeros eg. 000000 or user own password. Click Hint ,if applicable. 4. In the Acer eRecovery Windows, select Recovery Actions/Restore to Factory & Click Next 5. Select the Restore to factory default action & follow the onscreen instruction to complete the restore process is this reformating my computer ? should i do this or not ? after i do this does everything automatic restore to new again ? |

What Acer is telling you to do will completely wipe your computer and restore it to the condition it was in when you first took it out of the box. All programs, settings, files, and accounts will be removed. This includes any updates you have made since you started using it.
A common side-effect of doing this is that your hard drive is reformatted in the process. This will effectively wipe out any partitioning you may have done.
So, if you want to save any data files, you need to copy them to an external drive (hard drive or USB stick) before you do this recovery.
