| | I run Vista on an HP Desktop. This morning when I turned on the PC most of the desktop icons disappeared and all on my documents were gone also. I tried to do a restore and received a message "The writer experienced a transient error 0800423F3". Any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

| How did you attempt the restore? Did you boot into a Vista DVD and select the restore option? Or did you press a function key and attempt the HP-provided restore function?
