Windows Mail cannot access webmail accounts. It can only access POP3 and
IMAP accounts.
If you pay for the Yahoo Mail Plus account, then you can access their POP
server.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-06.html
and it appears you have to upgrade your Netzero account, likewise...

"smtp" is not a valid mail server name. You must obtain the correct
mail server names from your mail provider. However, free US Yahoo
accounts don't have POP access, only webmail access. Windows Mail
does not handle webmail. There are three possible solutions:
1. How did you access Yahoo mail before? If you are happy with
webmail via your browser, you can continue to use that.
2. Pay Yahoo to get their premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html
3. Another option is called YPOPs. It is free, but requires some technical
knowledge to implement:
http://ypopsemail.com/documentation/37-email-configuration/69-windows-live-mail
I'm not sure what provisions NetZero has for POP mail. It may be an extra cost option.

Hallo to all,
i have the same problem with my Mobile Mail Box.I have two Mail boxes one
from my NET provider "chello" and one of my mobile provider "drei".
With chello i can arrive and send mails. But with drei i only can arrive
mails but cant send one.
The error maasage are the same:
Fehler bei der Verbindung zum Server. Betreff '', Konto: '3Box', Server:
'smtp.drei.at', Protokoll: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure (SSL): Nein, Socketfehler:
10057, Fehlernummer: 0x800CCC0E
So i understood the web mail problem with Vista Mail but why can i arrive
mails then?
Or do i need a other smtp address from my Mobile provider?
greetings

The basic rule is that for port 25 SMTP service to work, your
Internet connection must come from the same provider as the
owner of that SMTP server. For more on this issue, see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx
The available workarounds are:
1. Use webmail for sending (via your browser).
2. Ask your ISP if they have a port other than '25' for SMTP.
3. Substitute the SMTP server belonging to your current connection.
4. If you frequently connect via different providers (such as Wi-Fi hotspots),
get a free Gmail account, configure it for POP access, and use it for your
sending chores. Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP, which is not blocked like
port 25 is.
