Very good question Charlie, I don't know the answer to that one and that's
why I posted the test message in this group where I suspected I was having
trouble.
It appears to be an intermittent problem. Some get through, some don't.

Actually someone was given the right answer to why he was having odd
behavior with just one group last week, so it can happen.
Are you posting direct to the MS server (msnews.microsoft.com or
whatever) or using your ISP's news server?
Direct is best, some ISPs are dropping newsgroups and don't seem to care
much about it.
Even so I have seen messages take a long time to show up even posting
directly, then another time it's almost instantaneous.
