I have an external HD with two partitions. One partition says it's full &
shows that the pagefile.sys is 232G.

I went to the manage virtual memory area and this drive shows "No Pagefile".
My "C" drive has a 2G pagefile.

This can't be right!! How do I fix it?

Since Windows does not see the mystery pagefile on the external drive's
partition why not just delete it? (or quick-format it if necessary).

Try this:

Go to Virtual Memory Properties and if the box labeled "automatically manage
paging file size for all drives" is checked, uncheck it. Then make sure the
option "system managed size" for the pagefile size on C: is checked. Also
make sure that all other listed drives say "none". Don't forget to click
the SET button or your changes will not be implemented. You will also have
to reboot the system for the new settings to take effect.

hmmmmmmmm I could never get my system to use a pagefile on the external
drive. But while I was experimenting I seem to remember that I had to
either take ownership of the pagefile.sys or use Unlocker before I could
delete it. See the tutorial for taking ownership of files. google for
Unlocker. If you delete it and it comes back then it sounds like you
have real problems.
