The Neosmart Wiki has posted some useful info on recovering your Vista installation if the bootloader gets damaged. Yeah, it includes plugs for their EasyBCD product but it also includes some links to files you can download if your machine came WITHOUT a Vista DVD (or you reformatted your drive before you remembered to make one).
