Hello, i'm trying to install a program called LDB Manager (it's a lyrics manager program for the COWON A3 PMP) but it is not compatible with vista. I tried to use the compatibility mode in order to make it work, however when i click poperties, either on the shortcut or the actual file, it doesn't show the compatibility tab as it is supposed, i only get the tabas "general", "security", "details" and "previous versions". After trying for a while i tried it in other exe files and it's the same problem, i think it is somehow disabled. Does anybody know how to reenable it? The computer is working fine otherwhise.

thanks.

Alejandro.

Here's a link to configuring compatibility mode using the registry when the wizard won't work: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/63998-compatibility-mode-list-programs.html?ltr=C

... HOWEVER ...

You already said the program is incompatible, so maybe Vista knows that and won't give you the tab to try to get it to work. If you hack the registry to force it, you'd better do a full image backup first; otherwise, you're going to run the risk of the incompatible program trashing your Vista installation.

Thanks, i'll try that when i get back home.

I really don't care about the program, but i thought it was wierd that i don't get the compatibility tab with any exe. i remember xp used to display it for everyone.

Yes, your lack of the tab is wierd. Did you specify compatibility mode when you installed it? If not, you could try reinstalling the program specifying compability mode -- but I've installed lots of stuff, never specifying compatibility mode, and that tab shows up on all my executables.
