| | I have a problem with my screen brightness... Even though I turn it all the way down (20% brightness), it is still too bright. Is there a way I can literaly turn it down so far that the screen becomes black? |

| Turning your monitor off will make it completely black...
On a serious note, what kind of monitor is it (laptop or desktop?) and what are you using to adjust the brightness now?

| Har har har. Well I have a Vista laptop, that's about as specific as I can get: it's dark now, I can't really read anything on it. I'm just wondering if there's a program or something I can download... I'm useing the Windows Mobility Center to adjust my brightness... |

| Typically laptops have a function button you can press to turn down the back lighting power to the screen to save power. Try looking for one on yours.

| Laptops also use the power options settings to define different screen intensity setting based on whether or not they are connected to AC power. You should look in those. You should be able to adjust the brightness settings there as well.

| | Well I tried that too... all it does when I put it on 'Power Saver' is turn the screen brightness down to 20%, same as adjusting it with the Windows Mobility program. Thanks for the info everyone, but I guess I'm looking for some quick solution that doesn't exist. |
