| | | | When I run Windows Explorer, the Documents folder is open.
More often than not, I want something within c:\program files, so I have
to scroll to that. Counting the click to close Documents, it takes four
mouse clicks.
Can I set it to open Program Files, and show all the subfolders beneath
it? Perhaps a registry tweak or a freeware utility program?

right click on the shortcut and in the target box change the entry into this
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,X:\
where X:\ is the path of the folder or drive you want to open, so change
yours accordingly
I have mine as %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,E:\
so it opens in my E drive

Hi Ernie,
You could use this instead:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /root, c:\ /select, c:\Program Files
It will have the "Program Files" expanded in the left pane to, but it
will give you what you wanted.

Hope this helps,
